Julia Rosenstock’s exhibition Charms at affair opens with a programme of readings and performances under the title 'Sind wir von der Arbeit müde, ist noch Kraft zu einem Liede'. Bringing together new pieces by Jasmine Grace Corpuz Wenzel, Mariel Chio, and Theresa Zwerschke, the event invites visitors to engage with questions of social mobility, the material conditions of artistic practice, and the institutional hierarchies of value.

In Charms, Rosenstock presents a video work within a sculptural arrangement, accompanied by a reader by the working group Sensing Class. Informed by lived experience and personal relations, the exhibition reflects on class, taste, and the production of value as intertwined processes of distinction, thinking along with Lu Märten’s proposition that 'there is a long history of form and a short history of art'.

The exhibition will be on view at affair from 7.06. to 14.06., open by appointment on weekdays and from 12:00–18:00 on the weekend.

affair

affair is an independent project space for artistic and performative practices, located on Böckhstraße in Berlin’s Gräfekiez. Founded by a group of artists, writers, curators, architects, and designers, the space contributes to Kreuzberg’s self-organized and diverse cultural landscape by providing a platform for discourse and experimentation. Moving beyond traditional exhibition models, the affair programme centres on short, intensive activations dedicated to interdisciplinary formats and collaborative encounters.

affair is currently run by Antonia Rebekka Truninger, Caroline Ballegaard, Clara von Schantz, Ren Mansoldo, Julia von Schantz, Lena Breitenborn, Lena Pfäffli, and Love Landefjord.

We are actively working to procure an entrance ramp for future programming. Visitors with specific access questions are welcome to reach out to us.
