Cittipunkt e.V., Brüsseler Str. 36a, 13353 Berlin-Wedding

Cittipunkt e.V. is delighted to present a solo exhibition by Berlin-based artist Cindie Cheung. Cindie Cheung is an artist using video and photography as her primary medium. She often treats her own experiences as material within her work. At Cittipunkt the artist will present new work that moves through personal archives.

Cittipunkt

Cittipunkt e.V. is an independent cultural centre in Berlin, Wedding. It is run by a fluctuating group of artists. The members of the non-profit association take care of all the maintenance work that acculumates in a self-organised space. Further, there are several groups that also shape and use the space continuously for semi-public and public gatherings (such as for reading groups, activists, neighbourhood initiatives, cinema groups, or cultural associations). Cittipunkt has four rooms: a big space, a membership bar/café, a library and a kitchen, in wich a variety of events, such as art shows, talks, magazine, book launches, readings, concerts, film screenings and a radio show take place.

Cittipunkt is inevitably but willfully a rather brittle collective as its users have differing ideas, agendas, beliefs, tastes, backgrounds, and ways to approach things. Therefore Cittipunkt's programme and public role is and should be in constant negotiation, can be incoherent, contradictory, and in flux.
